The Roman
Travertine Arcadia
A master bathroom envisioned as a private Roman retreat, this space reinterprets classical European elegance through a contemporary architectural lens.
Designed for a spacious private home in Savyon where arched passages, curated materials, and timeless detailing define the overall language this suite extends the home’s identity while elevating it into a world of quiet luxury.
The room is anchored by twin arched chambers a dedicated shower room and a private WC each framed in Italian travertine and enclosed with glass doors that open like architectural wings. Their symmetry and sculptural presence recall Roman bathhouses, where intimacy and grandeur coexisted in perfect balance.
The entire envelope is wrapped in Italian travertine, chosen for its soft movement, warm mineral tones, and innate sense of permanence. Paired with walnut-toned joinery, handcrafted bamboo-inspired faucets in a deep hazelnut finish, and brushed golden metalwork, the material palette creates a dialogue between earthiness and refinement.
At the center, a freestanding sculptural bathtub flows like a carved vessel, positioned toward expansive garden views. Soft daylight filters through sheer drapery, blurring the threshold between the interior sanctuary and the surrounding greenery.
A handwoven rope-and-silk rug introduces a botanical motif, grounding the space with natural tactility and echoing the lush landscape beyond the window. The ambiance is serene, immersive, and unmistakably indulgent an interpretation of classical luxury expressed through contemporary minimalism.
This bathroom is not merely a functional space; it is a ritual of materiality, a study in proportion, and a commitment to quiet grandeur. A place to slow down, breathe, and inhabit beauty.
